Fusion Wins Approval to Engage in Type I Telecommunications Business
On July 27, 2000, Fusion Communications Corporation received a Type-I telecommunications
carrier license and a license for FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) from the Japanese Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
With these licenses, Fusion plans to obtain a four-digit carrier access code (00XY)
as a Type-I telecommunications carrier and commence long-distance telephone services, Internet connection
services, and VPN (Virtual Private Network) services nationwide from next spring.
Fusion will become a registered carrier with MYLINE/MYLINE PLUS, a carrier selection
service which is to be launched in May 2001, and will offer long-distance telephone services at a low rate
that is uniform nationwide, thus breaking with the traditional system of telephone rates that vary by distance.
