Fusion Adds New "SecureTG" Service to FUSION VPN
Begins Offering Broadband Connections via ACCA Networks' Corp. DSL Service
Fusion Communications Corporation will begin offering broadband connection service
to corporate customers on July 1 using ACCA Networks Corp.'s DSL (*1) service for its access lines, and will
begin offering SecureTG (Secure Tunnel Gateway), a VPN architecture service utilizing IPSec (*2).
Fusion already provides the FUSION IP-VPN service using leased circuits for the access
lines. However, by using DSL for the access lines, SecureTG will allow a lower-cost, simpler VPN architecture,
which will make it easy for small and medium-sized offices to adopt VPN.
Also, by accessing FUSION IP-VPN service through SecureTG, it is possible to use DSL
with FUSION IP-VPN service access lines.
In preparation to offer IP subscriber telephone services, Fusion is currently engaged
in demonstrations and experiments with over 20 manufacturers and developers of IP telephone terminals. These
services not only will include data communications, but will also provide the foundation for the next generation
of broadband communication for corporate users, merging voice and data.
*1 DSL (Digital Subscriber Line): High-speed digital connection via subscriber telephone
lines (ADSL, SDSL, etc.)
*2 IPSec (Security Architecture for Internet Protocol): A standard for encrypted
communication over the Internet and other IP networks, using mutual authentication and virtual paths.
