Fusion Communications Corporation has formed an alliance with Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. as IP
subscriber telephone service device partners. Oki Electric's VC12R-BRI and VC12R-FXS IP phone adapters
released in July use SIP and are now officially compatible with FUSION IP-Phone.
The Fusion Service Partner Alliance is a policy that Fusion has adopted to expand the IP telephone market
based on an "open ISP" and "open vendor" approach. Oki Electric has expanded its
product line, adding the FUSION IP-Phone-compatible VC12R-BRI and VC12R-FXS IP phone adapters as low-cost,
high-performance products to expand the market for corporate IP telephone terminals and corporate IP
telephone services.
These two new models allow corporate users to connect their PBX and business phones to Fusion's IP phone
network, and have built-in VoIP capabilities that work with FUSION IP-Phone. The VC12R-BRI provides a
basic ISDN interface (one line), while the VC12R-FXS provides an analog phone interface (two lines).
Both models offer cascading connections for up to seven phones through UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)
for the setup of multiple IP-phone lines according to the customer's request. With built-in voice priority
control, high voice quality can be maintained when voice and data services are being used simultaneously.
Oki Electric plans to bring out additional FUSION IP-Phone-compatible products to suit customers' needs
in the future, and through this partnership the two companies will cooperate to expand FUSION IP-Phone
for enterprises.
