Fusion Communications Corporation has been providing its dedicated-line IP telephone service using IP access
lines since July 2, but on November 1 the company will add to this service the toll-free service, FUSION Free
Voice.
Direct calls made from an IP telephone to a fixed-line telephone are cheaper when IP access lines are used,
and by providing a toll-free service on top of this, it becomes possible for large-scale call centers and corporate
customer support centers to receive calls from fixed-line telephones anywhere in Japan at a rate of 8 yen per
3 minutes, which is lower than existing local call rates. This also vastly reduces costs associated with offering
a toll-free number, where call charges are reversed. It also allows call centers to be set up efficiently without
concern for call charges, and can be linked to advanced voice and data applications.
