Fusion Partners with Seta for IP-PBX System

Seta's "BaMBoo Link" IP-PBX System is Now Compatible with FUSION IP-Phone; Adopted by Local Government as IP Telephone System PBX

Fusion Communications Corporation has entered into a device partnership alliance with Seta Corporation for FUSION IP-Phone, Fusion's IP subscriber telephone service. Seta's "BaMBoo Link" SIP-compatible IP-PBX system, which went on sale in June 2004, has been made compatible with FUSION IP-Phone. BaMBoo Link is an all-in-one, full IP-PBX solution that includes all the functionality required by an enterprise for voice and data communications, such as a media server, IP gateway (router), and public line gateway, achieved primarily through a SIP server with improved exchange features such as hold and call forwarding. All of the functions are integrally linked to provide consolidated, all-in-one communication services that help to improve business efficiency and productivity. Customers that introduce BaMBoo Link are then able to use the IP telephone service provided by Fusion for outside line calls.

Seta plans to expand the capabilities of BaMBoo Link to provide automatic call forwarding using geographical information and connectivity to an IP Centrex system for enhanced convenience.

BaMBoo Link was adopted by one local government in the Kanto area for its IP telephone system, and is already in operation. The IP phone system introduced by the local authority connects its government offices to over 30 other local public facilities through a wide-area LAN, and over 400 IP telephone terminals are in operation. This is the first large-scale adoption of an IP telephone system by a local government in Japan. The consolidation and integration of lines made possible by the use of BaMBoo Link vastly reduces communications charges of all kinds, including extension calls (between local public facilities). Also, the PBX equipment and multi-button business telephone sets that were required at each location could similarly be consolidated and integrated, with huge reductions in operating costs expected, as there is no more need to operate and maintain such equipment.

Seta plans to continue developing and selling products compatible with the FUSION IP-Phone platform as both companies work together to expand FUSION IP-Phone services based on the partnership.
