Fusion Communications Corporation announced today that it will add a commercial service to the FUSION IP-Phone Multi-Phone Gateway for Skype that it has been providing on a trial basis since February 1, 2006. The new commercial service will begin on September 1.
The Multi-Gateway for Skype, an add-on service to FUSION IP-Phone, enables FUSION IP-Phone users with access to the Internet to receive telephone calls on a FUSION IP-Phone number (a 050 number) regardless of the ISP used simply by downloading and installing the Skype PC software provided by Skype Technologies SA (www.skype.co.jp) and the Multi-Gateway for Skype auto-forward setting client software (the "Setting Software") and using Skype.
Fusion originally planned to set monthly usage charges for Multi-Gateway for Skype and for the Setting Software (Basic, Advanced, and Administrator) following the launch of a commercial service, but use of these software products will remain free of charge even after the launch of the commercial service.
In addition, customers who have registered for the current trial service will be able to continue using the service following launch of the commercial service.
Fusion is promoting the personal use of corporate 050 telephone numbers. Fusion will continue to make use of IP telephone services employing 050 numbers, which do not depend on location and facilitate mobility, to provide IP telephone solutions based on new concepts as highly-convenient voice communications tools tailored to the business styles of each customer.
