Fusion Communications Corporation
Kintetsu Cable Network Co.Ltd.

Fusion Communications Corporation has established a partnership with Kintetsu Cable Network Co., Ltd. (KCN) to offer "primary telephone service via fiber" through KCNfs fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service for the consumer market.

KCN supplies FTTH service to single-family houses and apartment and condominium complexes in Nara and Kyoto prefectures through its cable television fiber-optic network. Starting in February of this year, KCN will extend this service to provide gprimary telephone service via fiberh for 0AB~J numbers (0743 prefix for Ikoma, etc.) using Fusion's FTTH-compatible IP phone platform service for ISPs.

KCN's primary telephone service via fiber has the following features. (Note: Service details will be announced officially by KCN shortly.)

  1. A high-quality, low-cost IP telephone service for 0AB~J numbers is provided through the interconnection of KCN's cable TV fiber-optic network and Fusion's IP telephone platform.
  2. NTT's fixed line phone number can be used without change.
  3. 050 numbers can be used at the same time, in addition to 0AB~J numbers, for free calls between KCN's FTTH users and free calls to 050 IP telephone numbers provided by Fusion.
  4. Calls can be made to emergency numbers such as 110, 118, and 119, and to 0120 toll-free numbers.
  5. Caller ID (equivalent to NTT's number display service) is provided free of charge.
  6. Compatible with basic additional services such as the rejection of incoming calls from non-displayed numbers or specified numbers, and call waiting (equivalent to NTT's "Catch Phone" service).
  7. Cheaper than a standard NTT fixed line plus Internet charges; and if one signs up for additional broadcasting or video delivery services such as Digital Multi-Channel Broadcasting or video-on-demand, a multi-service discount will be available for even better rates.

Fusion plans to further strengthen this partnership with KCN and plans to work with KCN on developing innovative new services to provide attractive telephone services to customers using FTTH service.
